Kari & Kaiden: A Total Altos de Chavón Takeover
If you’re planning a Casa de Campo wedding, you aren’t just booking a venue; you’re basically claiming a piece of Dominican Republic history for the weekend. For Kari and Kaiden, the goal was a total takeover of the resort’s most iconic spots. We moved away from the standard resort template to create something that felt curated and intentional. From the morning slow-burn in the VIP suite to a late-night party, every minute was designed to keep the energy high.
The First Look
We kicked things off at the VIP suite, where Anna Nuet was working her usual hair and makeup magic. After a few tears during the first look (the good kind, we promise), we headed out for portraits.
Vogue Vibes at the Amphitheater
Before the “I Dos,” we gathered the entire bridal party into the Altos de Chavón Amphitheatre. If you’ve ever tried to move a group of people through winding, historic stone streets in high heels and formalwear, you know it’s basically an Olympic sport.
But once we hit those grand stone arches? Total editorial magic. We managed to capture some “Vogue-style” group shots that made the whole party look like they walked off a movie set, and we still had everyone tucked away and hidden before the guests started arriving at the Dye Fore Terrace.
A Ceremony Above the Clouds (Sort Of)
The ceremony at Dye Fore was everything a Caribbean wedding should be. With the Chavón River valley stretching out behind them and the floral pillars framing the aisle, the atmosphere was peak luxury. It’s the kind of setting that makes you forget you’re at a resort and makes you feel like you’ve discovered a private corner of the world.
Dinner, Drinks and Dancing
Once the ceremony was official, the party shifted to the Piazzetta Terrace. Imagine an intimate dinner under a canopy of bistro lights, surrounded by old-world stone architecture. But don’t let the “quiet luxury” of the dinner fool you—once the DJ started, the energy shifted fast.
It was a day that proved you can have the grand, editorial photos and still have a party with your favorite people.
